Power of Putnam (POP) was created by a coalition of educators and other community leaders who were concerned about substance abuse in Putnam County, Tenn. The www.BeAKnowBody.com Web site was created to specifically address the issue of underage drinking. It seeks to provide teens and children with information about the detrimental affects of drinking and to instill in them the power to say “no” to alcohol.

We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13, in compliance with the requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998.
Information You Submit
The information we receive depends on what you do when visiting this site. If you want to submit a story or comment, you will be asked to enter a nickname or handle. Do not use your real name and do not use your e-mail screen name.
If you choose to submit a request to the "Contact Us" page, we will request your e-mail address only for the purpose of responding to you. If you do not submit your e-mail address, we will make no attempt to collect the address without your knowledge.
E-mail addresses that are submitted to us are not collected, shared, sold or used for other purposes that are not stated within this privacy policy, and we do not require that you enter an e-mail address.
If you choose to submit your story on our "Speak" page, we will collect the following information and adhere to the following guidelines:
Nickname or Handle
1. DO NOT use your legal name, e-mail address name or screen name, or any other identifiable name.
2. If you are an AOL user, please be sure to alter the name you submit to us, because AOL screen names also function as e-mail addresses.
We will use your nickname or handle to issue a confirmation code (KNOW Code). If we use your story on this Web site, we will send an e-mail to the Lifetime Wellness Teacher (LWT) at your school with your confirmation number (KNOW Code). Your LWT will use the confirmation number (KNOW Code) to issue your free backpack.
We will not send your nickname or story to the LWT or share, sell or use it in any way not identified within this policy, and we will purge the information after we have sent the confirmation number to the LWT.
None of the information we require is personally identifiable information.
If your story has personal identifiable information, it will not be considered for online posting. Additionally, we may require a parental release to be signed.
Any company that helps us run this Web site, and any one associated with ongoing maintenance, hosting or marketing of the Web site has signed an agreement indicating that they will only use the anonymous information collected in aggregate for the purposes for which they were hired.
Information Collected and Stored Automatically
